On July 15, 2010, the woyane army suffered 40 death and at least 20 casualties, inflicted by the Ethiopian People Patriotic Front (EPPF). The attack occurred in northwest Gondar, and after killing and wounding the woyane army, EPPF forces captured more than seventy AK-47.
Several citizens in the region, and even some woyane army members are believed to be joining the EPPF movement.

The movement has vowed to continue fighting until woyane regime is thrown out of power.

Leader of Amhara Democratic Movement, Colonel Alebel Amare, spoke briefly about Brigadier General Teferra Mamo, in an interview with Eri-TV. The Colonel stated that B.G. Teferra Mamo is in woyane’s prison cell for two reasons: he is an Amhara and anti-regionalism. Colonel Alebel also discussed about federalism, which he said is non-existent in Ethiopia, contrary to woyane’s claims. He stated that every region, zones, kebeles are 100% controlled by the ruling party.

Woyane’s Patriarch, known as “Abune Paulos” has received 3.4 million Ethiopian Birr to buy himself a luxury car, as a reward to his 18 years of service to the Ethiopian Orthodox church. Furthermore, Abune Paulos has erected his own statue on the compounds of an Orthodox church known as Medhane Alem, located near Bole in Addis Ababa. The patriarch’s self-portraits have also been displayed in all of the orthodox churches, next to the paintings of biblical saints and angels. It’s been reported that believers are dismayed, as it is illegal and blasphemous to compare oneself to saints and angels, according to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
